How do you prepare your body for stopping the pill?

Women off the pill, D-LAB Post-Pill Detox

Stopping taking the pill is often a difficult experience, as it leads to major hormonal imbalances that affect a woman's health and well-being.

Premenstrual pain, irregular cycles, acne flare-ups, headaches, mood disorders... and so on. The symptoms that appear following the cessation of synthetic hormones are the body's means of expression to show that it needs help!

To prepare your body for stopping taking the pill, you need to adapt your lifestyle, i.e. adjust all the choices and practices you make on a daily basis that have an impact on your health.

In this article, we give 5 tips on how to stop taking the pill with complete peace of mind.

I - Adopting a balanced diet

Stopping taking the pill is a key moment, during which the body has special needs in order to regain its equilibrium.

  • Reduce the toxic load: limit as far as possible industrial and processed products (ready-made meals, cold meats, etc.), food additives, and all foods rich in sugars and processed fatty acids.

  • Eat enough: when you stop taking the pill, your body needs considerable resources to restore its hormonal balance. It's important to eat enough, in a varied and structured way (proteins, carbohydrates and fats) to provide all the elements the body needs on a daily basis.

II - Preparing your skin

The skin reacts to the various hormones of the female cycle. When the emunctory organs are saturated, toxins are eliminated through the skin, causing blemishes, acne and excess sebum.

To avoid an acne flare-up after taking the pill, set up a routine adapted to your skin type.

Avoid conventional cosmetics containing mineral oil, preservatives, synthetic fragrances or chemical UV filters, which can affect your natural hormonal balance. Choose gentle, natural skincare products.

III - Taking care of your liver

The liver plays a major role in the post-pill transition.

In the body, the liver filters, neutralizes and eliminates toxins and synthetic molecules, including the hormones in the pill.

The liver is often the organ most affected by years of taking the pill. All the toxins contained in the pill will overload the liver, which is often already overloaded by all the other sources of toxins (food, pollution, cosmetics, etc.).

When you stop taking the pill, the hormonal system is unbalanced and the liver is more overworked. It is therefore important to gently support the liver in its work.

  • Drinking plenty of water will enable the liver and the entire waste elimination system to flush out toxins.

  • Foods rich in chlorophyll (dark green vegetables) help cell regeneration, while sulfur-containing foods (cabbage, broccoli, etc.) help eliminate toxins and limit hormonal excesses.

IV - Exercise to sweat!

Sweating is the body's way of eliminating waste and toxins that clog up the liver

The skin is an emunctory organ, using both the sebaceous and sweat glands to eliminate toxins.

Through regular physical activity, we aim to stimulate blood and lymph circulation and, what's more, the elimination of toxins.

V - Stopping the pill: Holistic food supplements

Composed of vitamins, minerals, trace elements and plant extracts, dietary supplements are a natural and effective way to rebalance the body after stopping the pill. They act directly at the heart of the cells, providing the micronutrients needed to alleviate post-pill symptoms.

To help women cope calmly with the end of their hormonal contraception, D-LAB has developed Post-Pill Detox, a 100% vegan formula that supports the female hormonal system as well as the emunctory organs involved in the detoxification process, to prepare the body for the end of the pill and avoid related symptoms.

1 - Restores hormonal balance

Post-Pill Detox restores hormonal balance to relieve symptoms associated with stopping the pill: premenstrual pain, irregular cycles, headaches, mood disorders... etc.

  • Vitamin B6 regulates hormonal activity, helping to maintain normal levels of estrogen and progesterone. It acts on symptoms such as anxiety, irritability and premenstrual nervous tension.

  • Evening primrose oil, composed of gamma-linolenic and linoleic acids, helps regulate the hormonal system, maintains optimum comfort during menstruation and helps combat menstrual pain and hot flashes.

  • Rose centifolia supports the function of the sexual organs and helps maintain a comfortable menstrual cycle.

2 - Preserves the health of the skin

Post-Pill Detox contains phytotherapy, vitamins and minerals essential for good skin health, to help avoid those frequent skin problems and post-pill skin sensitivity.

  • Zinc is a trace element essential to the skin and beneficial in reducing imperfections. It helps regulate sebum production, preventing clogged pores and allowing the skin to breathe. Zinc also promotes skin cell regeneration and combats the effects of cellular aging.

  • Lodhra has effective astringent properties against acne. It helps keep skin healthy and improves complexion.

3 - Detoxifies the body

The Post-Pill Detox protects and supports the health of the liver to promote elimination and purification of the body.

  • Milk thistle contains silymarin, a highly effective hepatoprotective active ingredient. It deeply purifies the body, eliminates toxins present in the liver and promotes rapid regeneration of damaged tissues.

  • Burdock is a depurative plant renowned for helping to eliminate toxins and purify the blood.

"I am delighted with this collaboration with D-LAB NUTRICOSMETICS. It was one of the first brands I worked with on social media. And this collaboration turned into a co-creation, by women for women. We decided to create together a cure for all those who decide to stop taking the contraceptive pill or any hormonal contraception. We wanted to say to them "here is a product for you, there are people here who understand your decision to switch to something more natural for your body. Our goal is not to tell women what to do with their bodies and their contraception, it is to tell those who decide to stop that a food supplement for them is now created.
