Keratin

I. The origin of keratin

Keratin is a natural, insoluble protein made up of amino acids.

It's a fundamental building block of hair, protecting it from external aggressors such as pollution, blow-drying, UV rays and seawater, and reinforcing its impermeability.

It is also responsible for hair's elasticity, shine and strength

However, keratin stocks are not renewed and are depleted over time and by aggression.

Produced by keratinocytes, the cells that make up our skin, keratin accounts for nearly 90% of the composition of our hair and nails.

It gives hair strength, shine and elasticity for daily care, deep moisturizing and silkiness, day after day.

Animal keratin can be extracted from horns and hooves, but can also be obtained from sheep's wool or apalga.

This is the case for our Absolu de Kératine, whose keratin comes from the wool of sheep raised in the open air and shorn humanely in the presence of a veterinarian, according to strict specifications.

For optimum results on the scalp and hair fiber, our hydrolyzed keratin is manufactured using a natural , patented extraction process to obtain soluble tri-peptides with an amino acid profile identical to that of human beings.

II. The benefits of keratin

Keratin supplementation is important for harder nails, shiny, strong hair and reduced hair loss

The keratin that makes up hair is definitive and does not renew itself, so it's important to provide it in high doses to combat damaged hair and hair loss.

Every day, hair is subjected to external aggressions (UV rays, cold, sea water...) as well as chemical aggressions such as coloring. As a result, hair becomes damaged, with dry ends and split ends, and is no longer protected against these numerous aggressions.

It is therefore essential to repair the hair fiber by supplementing it with keratin, which will enable all hair types - color-treated, fine, thick, short or long - to have a beautiful, healthy mane.

Keratin acts as a natural fortifier for hair lacking in nutrition, helping to reduce hair loss, increase hair mass and add shine and luster.

Keratin in hair supplement is ideal for strengthening the hair's inner layer. For 360° action, keratin cures can be taken as a complement to keratin-based cosmetic treatments, which act superficially on the outer layers to fill gaps and scales.

You can also combine keratin-based dietary supplements with rinse-off care products for dry or frizzy hair based on argan oil or castor oil to facilitate styling and smoothing.

Keratin therefore repairs hair deep down, but its action is all the more important when you combine it with vitamin B8, arugula and bamboo, as in our Duo Nutrition-Capillaire, to promote hair growth by stimulating keratin synthesis.

Keratin is also a building block of nails, and keratin supplementation will help restore hardness and reduce brittleness.

III. Dosage and deficiencies

Our laboratory has developed a water-soluble keratin from sheep's wool, manufactured using a patented process to be easily assimilated by the body.

This keratin, which is the flagship active ingredient in our pampering Absolu de Kératine formula, was the subject of a randomized, double-blind study involving 50 women.

The trial showed a reduction in hair loss, better quality and more resistant hair, an 87.5% improvement in shine, and nails appeared harder and less brittle.

Tests have shown the effectiveness of keratin on hair and nails at a dose of 500mg per day. It is therefore advisable to take Absolu de Kératine as a 28-day course of treatment, at each change of season, for at least 3 months in a row, particularly for weakened hair.

pure keratin

Mechanical, external and chemical aggressions, such as vigorous brushing, over-frequent coloring and sun exposure, can weaken our hair's keratin. If hair has a keratin deficiency, it becomes brittle, dry and limp. Frizz or split ends can also be caused by keratin deficiency.

The lack of keratin in our hair must then be compensated for once again using complement hair food and cosmetic products for damaged hair such as shampoos, conditioners, creams or keratin-based moisturizing masks, so that hair fibers can be repaired and your lengths can regain a smooth, shiny appearance and optimal hydration.

To enhance the results of keratin capsules and combat deficiencies, we recommend reducing the use of heat sources such as straightening irons or hair dryers, massaging your scal p for a few minutes to stimulate the bulb and promote scalp respiration, and bathing in vegetable oils such as castor oil, argan oil or coconut oil. Before straightening, we also recommend a thorough cleansing of the hair to eliminate residues and pollutants. Opt for a keratin care shampoo to prepare your hair for the smoothing treatment and promote keratin fixation.

To conclude

It's very important to find out about the origin of k eratin and its dosage before you start any keratin treatments.

If your hairdresser finds it difficult to give you the information you need, then ask the manufacturer, who should be able to tell you more about the origin of the keratin used in their products.
